The Alternative School for Math & Science

ASMS was founded in 2003 by a group of parents and community members who were concerned about the declining achievement levels of middle school and high school students in the Southern Tier of New York, particularly in the areas of math and science. Inspired by the beilef that excellence in education empowers all students to realize their potential, the founders created a school in which all students can thrive. The new York State Board of Regents issued the school's Provisional Charter in December of 2003, and its Absolute Charter in September 2010. ASMS was awarded national accreditation by Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools in November of 2015.
