Funded state level for accountability courts
Single court in the circuit hears all Domestic Violence/Intimate Partner Violence cases
Single Assistant DA handles most cases
All cases referred to RESOLV and tracked to completion in court
New Domestic Violence Accountability Courts in all Georgia Superior Court Circuits (State Funding)
Specialty Training for prosecutor and judges
Trained Forensic Interviewers and Investigators for all cases as well as victim’s advocates
Victims Advocates work from a separate fund and not for the prosecutor
RESOLV program replicated in every circuit
Instant financial payback with reduced incarceration with long term payback in reduced recidivism
Every case resulting in bodily harm or death will require prosecutor to go to the crime scene and if a death occurred they will attend the autopsy. This allows the prosecutor to connect with the victim.
The offender stays in probation until their term is over. If at anytime they deviate then they come back before the judge and for immediate remediation.
***** RESOLV is a program that we want to replicate. What this program does is teach the offender that they learned the behavior, and therefore, they can unlearn the behavior. They are taught to take responsibility for their actions.
