The Bastrop Project - The Dream Center

THE PROBLEM:

Bastrop, Louisiana is an extremely depressed area. UKBIF realizes the poverty that keeps people down in many aspects.

Inadequate employment plagues many families in Bastrop, LA, lack of funds, jobs, housing, transportation, food, education and credit affects how one takes care of themselves and their children.

All of these things added up can economically depress the poor and make the chance of breaking out of the system brutally difficult.

THE NEED:

The need to help the underserved populations of people in Bastrop, LA has not gone unnoticed by UKBIF.

Our vision of “Leave No Souls Behind” has no service barriers regarding race, gender, or age.

We aim to serve all that need our service

THE GOALS:

Goal 1 - To provide the basic human needs of food and shelter to low income Individuals in need of food and a place to live.

Goal 2 - To provide the educational programs needed to complete high school and enter college and/or vocational training school.

Goal 3 - To provide job readiness training to individuals seeking the knowledge they need to advance into higher paying positions in the workplace.

Goal 4 - To provide Pregnant and Young Teen Mothers with guidance and assistance in taking care of their baby.
