The Betsy Ann Ross House of Hope

Maine’s female veterans facing homelessness have no facility solely dedicated to their needs and challenges. Since 2014, we have been raising awareness and funds to open a home to fill that gap.

Our mission is to establish a support system specific to the individual female veteran that creates an atmosphere of community by providing financial aid and housing to the female veteran and her children, access to services, and discovering opportunities for training, education, and employment to achieve independence. Our Homelessness Prevention Program, already in place, provides immediate financial aid to female veterans at risk of losing their current housing.

The Betsy Ann Ross House of Hope will be only shelter in all of Maine that focuses on female veterans and their children. We anticipate receiving guests from throughout the state in need of the female-veteran-specific services we offer in our transitional housing facility and through our Homelessness Prevention Program.
