The Breakaway is a six to twelve month residential program of recovery for women based upon the 12-step model.
The Breakaway provides a 24-hour structured and supervised program of recovery. The residents are required to attend daily meetings and classes, get a sponsor, find employment, pay weekly rent, and participate in daily chores. Concepts of recovery as well as social and financial skills are taught within the home. The ultimate outcome is to return the women to the community as productive and participatory members.
The Breakaway offers an alternative that will reduce incarceration and recidivism which will, in turn, save taxpayer dollars.
