More about The Bridge Community Church

OUR BEGINNINGS
In March of 2002, after 22 years in youth ministry, God began laying on my heart the need to plant a new church in the Northwestern School district. During that year Roberta and I attended a two-day workshop about church planting. I also attended a three-day seminar about church planting and read several books concerning the subject. In December of 2002, we accepted God’s call on our lives and took the leap of faith to begin. In the February of 2003 Roberta and I attended a Church Planter’s Boot Camp in Orlando, Florida where God further sealed his call upon our lives to plant a church. In May of 2003 we met together with 30 other people to discuss this dream. From that a core of about 15 adults set out to make this a reality and we called the new church plant The Bridge. We felt the name was appropriate because our desire was to have a place where no matter who you were, where you’ve been or what you’ve done you will feel at home. A place where you can safely connect with God and other people. Over the next year we held special preview events for the community to discover what The Bridge was all about. After several of us attended another boot camp in Indiana, plus a lot of preparation, we launched the new church for Weekly Celebrations on Oct 24, 2004. We are excited about the future. Have you have been looking for a place that accepts you for who you are and invites you to come as you are? A place where you can safely investigate the claims of Christ? A fun, comfortable and casual place where family is a priority, seekers can find answers, the hurting can find healing and the broken can find hope? We believe we are that kind of place. Drop in to see for yourself. There is a place reserved for you and your family at The Bridge.

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. -- Philippians 4:4-7
