History of The Brooklands
The building was built in 1927 by our boys that formed the Union at Goodyear Tire and Rubber. It was built as the original Akron Speakeasy during prohibition for the hard working men and women who worked in the factories. Originally it was just called "The Brooklands." When prohibition ended in 1933 it became the Brooklands Bar. We incorporated under that same name and completely remodeled the bar to its original Speakeasy glory.
