The Brooks Guest House was built in 1900 and is the oldest house in this part of Mineola. Cora owned the Brooks Department Store in downtown Mineola from the early 20's through about 1960. Barney Brooks owned and operated the Cotton Gin beginning in the early 1900's. Cora and Barney Brooks and their descendants lived in this house until the late 1980's and then it was converted to a 4 unit Bed and Breakfast. After years of neglect Vic and Cynthia Savelli bought the house in 2014 and completed its restoration in 2015.
