The Canaan Farm

Our story on how we got started with chickens is quite funny. As it started a bit backwards. We started with a Rooster, named Ivan, which then was changed to Sully... then changed and settled on Duke (welcome to living with a 3 year old)

Either way - we found him in our driveway ... on my car. We do live in some what of country area so I called around. Figuring some one had lost their crazy haired chicken. We found put he "belonged to" a neighbor up the road from us (who also got him the same way as my husband and I did). Well we told him to come get him.... but he was out of town and I quote "No way! Finders Keepers, you keep him" .... you can guess my reaction - HA! why not? lol
well One rooster lead to 7 hens.... and then 14.... and you get it... right? Chicken Math.... its real. And WE love it!
