The Capt' David House

We are located on a highly desirable, quiet side street, just a short walk to the Bar Harbor town green Main Street and The Island Explorer Bus Pick up area. Our house which was built in 1920 has been completely renovated this past year. Your comfort and safety are our top priorities. The Captain David House was completely renovated and furnished in 2016, with both in mind. Located in the heart of Bar Harbor, it is the perfect place from which to explore all of Acadia National Park and Mount Desert Island.

Comfort:
One important element to an enjoyable vacation, is a good night’s sleep. We provide comfortable mattresses and luxurious sheets. Two of our bedrooms have queen sized beds and our children’s bedroom sleeps two in a bunk bed. There is a sleep sofa in the livingroom for those extra guests. The house is airconditioned to provide comfort on those rare hot summer days when the ocean breeze is just not enough.

Our brand new kitchen is equipped with everything you need to prepare meals at home, re-heat leftovers from your night out or even host a lobster bake. We have tried to think of everything you will need and even provide, sugar, flour, salt, pepper and olive oil. Our kids haul lobsers in the summer and are happy to provide you with fresh off the boat lobsters. See the attached brochure for more info on getting lobster delivered to your house.

My favorite part of the house is the front porch. From here you can, sit back, put your feet up, enjoy a cool drink and inhall the fresh ocean air that blows thru town.

Safety:
We have installed hard wired smoke and CO2 detectors in each bedroom and throughout the house. We also provide a fire extinguisher on each floor. The Capt. David House is located within half a mile of the Fire and Police Stations and less than a mile from the Mount Desert Island Hospital. We also do our best to ensure the safety of small children by keeping our cleaning products out of reach and providing a baby gate.
