What the hell is “The Chamoan”?

The Chamoan (cha-mo-un) was a nickname that truly received no creative input from myself. As an emergency responder, I was deployed to the Mariana Islands (Saipan specifically), due to a Typhoon (Tropical Cyclone) that hit the island with destructive force. I worked hard and very long hours with the natives known as Chamorros in the hopes of getting things back to normal. My lack of knowledge of the Pacific led me to false assumption that I thought they were called Chamoans, just like people from American Samoa are called Samoans. I WAS WRONG and embarrassed, especially since I said this in front of MANY natives. Thankfully my hard work for the natives had me in positive favor and since I made the mistake of labeling them as Chamoans they then titled me as “The Chamoan Warrior”, but I shortened my soon to be known Public Figure Tag as “The Chamoan”.
