The Church of St. Luke in the Fields (Episcopal)

The Church of St. Luke in the Fields is a lively, inclusive parish located in the heart of New York City's Greenwich Village. We reflect the variety of peoples in our world: different genders, sexual orientations, all forms of families, all abilities and special needs, in every socio-economic grouping, and from many cultures – all one in the body of Christ. St. Luke's is an Episcopal Church, part of the world-wide Anglican Communion, and grounded in the rich Anglo-Catholic liturgical and musical tradition. We believe that as members of the Body of Christ, we are called to ministries of worship, formation, hospitality and witness.

In the 19th century, St. Luke's was a center of the Catholic renewal and the Oxford Movement. The parish became the first in the city to offer daily services of the Divine Office and a weekly Sunday Eucharist. The Eucharist remains at the heart of our life at St. Luke's.

Whether you are looking for a new community of worship or just visiting New York City, we invite you to join us. Our Anglo-Catholic liturgy, our music program, and the energy of our congregational singing draw visitors from all over the country and the world.

The Holy Eucharist (also referred to as Holy Communion, the Lord's Supper, or Mass) is at the heart of our worship life. All baptized Christians are welcome to come forward to receive the consecrated Bread and Wine at every Eucharistic celebration at St. Luke's. Our service leaflets are user-friendly, and we make every effort to make newcomers and visitors feel welcome and involved.

On Sundays, childcare is provided for children six and under.
