The Church

THE BEGINNING (JUNE 2011)
After much prayer, we believe that God is leading us to plant a new church in Picayune. I know what you're thinking...doesn’t Picayune have enough churches? The answer is no! Picayune has enough meetings of people mainly comprised of families, who get together every Sunday and Wednesday. Picayune has enough buildings with white steeples, who are not reaching the lost. Picayune has enough social gatherings of people who sit on a pew, smile through their pain as if real life is not happening, sing a few verses, and get just enough Jesus to ease their itching conscience. Who is reaching the young families and the unchurched. Who’s reaching the people that don’t look like us, talk like us, live like us, or walk like us? There are a few churches who are doing great kingdom work. My family is currently part of one, but there is more work to be done. Over the past few years I have been traveling and preaching. I’ve known for a while now that God was leading me to be part of a fresh, new, contemporary work. Recently I’ve been traveling with Trey Tate. He leads worship, I preach. God has moved in a great way and our conversations continue to include starting something powerful. We have looked into Nashville, Lynchburg, Atlanta, Dallas and other places to plant. Over the past few months the words of a wise woman keep echoing in my ears, “Is Picayune not worth reaching?” After a lot of prayer, we have come to the conclusion that it is. The task is tough to say the least. We are looking for a place to meet. We are considering Sunday nights at 6:30. We need your prayers and support. There are countless ways that you can help now! RECENTLY (NOVEMBER 2012)
God has done some amazing things at The Church. We have recently moved to our West Canal location. 120 West Canal St. in Picayune. If you cross the Rail Road tracks onto West Canal, we are the 2nd building on the right. You cant miss us! Join us every Sunday morning at 10am.
