The Community House

The Community House is a private, non-profit organization which sponsors cultural, social, educational and recreational programs. In 1921, such offerings included a special men’s smoking room and canning classes for women. Nowadays, offerings include a variety of family, child and adult programs, activities for seniors, community events and space for gatherings of all types.

The Community House has hosted activities for all ages for more than 90 years, while serving citizens of Hamilton and Wenham. Many residents have fond memories of the Friday Night Movies, scout meetings, bowling, dances and more at the Community House.

At present we are host to many programs and activities for families and children, programs for Adults and Seniors, our Special Friends and the many community organizations who meet here regularly. Our lovely Main Hall and President’s Library are the perfect location for an intimate wedding reception, anniversary, special birthday celebration of business function.

Today, the Community House and our programs continue to answer the needs of our citizens, while being good stewards of our beautiful historic buildings. We hope you will join us! Become a supporter today.
