Our 7400+ members support 1,111 acres containing two superb clubhouses situated seven miles apart, 54 holes of golf, 24 tennis courts, three squash courts, three paddle tennis courts, a fitness facility, five pools a croquet field, multiple dining outlets, special event venues and more. In season, CCV employs a staff of approximately 600 and has an operating budget in excess of $25 million. Our motto "An Evolution to Excellence Through Continuous Improvement", can be seen in everything we do.

The Country Club of Virginia offers three distinctly different golf courses designed by noted course architects Donald Ross, William Flynn, and Joe Lee. The James River facility offers 36 holes of golf and the Westhampton 18 holes. All three offer a golfing experience that is unique in character. The celebrated James River Course has hosted numerous championships including the Southern Amateur Championship and the 1955 and 1975 National U.S. Amateur Championship. Accompanying the courses are also three practice facilities and two short game areas. Both the James River and Westhampton campuses offer full service golf shops with a wide array of golf equipment, apparel, and accessories. The PGA Professional Staff offers golf instruction programming that incorporates the latest in video and launch monitor technology catering to all levels of golfers from the novice to the accomplished player. At the center of the instruction program is junior and family friendly golfing activities.

CCV was founded in 1908 by a group of area Club presidents who envisioned a large club with excellent amenities to rival those of the Northeast. The Westhampton property was chosen for its sweeping western views of the James River and its proximity to the street car stop. In the 1920's the Club obtained the property at the James River location and built what is today their championship course. The Tuckahoe Creek course was added as a nine-hole facility in the 1960's and was expanded to 18 in 1988. Throughout its history, CCV has honored a commitment to excellence and remains Richmond's premiere social and golf club.

The Champions Tour is coming to Richmond! The top 54 players on the Champions Tour will compete at The Country Club of Virginia's James River Course in the second event of the Champions Tour Playoffs series, October 31 - November 6, 2016.
