The Crick House Retreat

The Crick House Retreat is nestled in the daylight basement of our family home which sits on one third of an acre. After living in Newberg for thirty years and raising two wonderful sons, we no longer have the need of such a large home and have decided to offer it to those traveling to our part of the world.

With over 800 SF you have a whole floor to yourself.

The Crick House Retreat is accessible through it's own private entrance. It also has a sliding door off of the main living area that leads out to the wonderful forested backyard and outside living spaces.

Your home away from home consists of two bedrooms, each uniquely decorated. The larger bedroom with a more contemporary feel has a queen bed with a desk for a work space. The other bedroom has a shabby chic atmosphere with a full bed and dressing table that belonged to my husband's Grandmother. On one wall hangs an original pioneer quilt that was started while my ancestors traveled west on the Oregon Trail.

There is one bathroom that has a tile shower featuring a corrugated metal ceiling with distressed metal cabinets that gives it a fun industrial feel. We also supply all towels for your convenience.

The kitchenette has a full size refrigerator with freezer, a microwave, hotplate, toaster oven, and coffee pot.

The living room has all leather furniture and wool area rugs. The gas fireplace can be used as a focal point on cooler evenings or the wall mounted 46" flat screen TV with surround sound can be your center of attention when not out enjoying the wonderful scenery of the Yamhill valley and beyond.

There is a shared laundry with laundry supplies provided. All cleaning supplies are provided as well as an optional cleaning service for an additional fee. There is an iron, ironing board and sewing machine available for your use.

At the Crick House Retreat you do not have to worry about any additional costs. All household costs are covered. Even Wifi is provided!

Lastly we are happy to offer off street parking for two cars.

My husband and I live on the main floor with two dogs. Shelby and Indy are very used to the comings and goings of of people staying at The Crick House Retreat and enjoy meeting new guests as much as we do! After spending a large portion of our lives here in Newberg, we have watched as things have grown and changed and have become very knowledgeable about the area, its wineries and tourism. We very much enjoy sharing our beautiful area of Oregon with people visiting here.

And of course the name "Crick House Retreat" comes from the year round creek that flows through the lower part of the property. The creek and the property, although located in the City of Newberg, has an abundance of birds, small wildlife, beaver, deer and an occasional river otter swimming up the creek searching for frogs and small fish. All this and you can walk into Newberg in just a few minutes and enjoy shopping, food and of course wine tasting.

The Crick House Retreat is also situated close to George Fox University, a twenty five minute drive to McMinnville, Oregon and Linfield College. Outside of Yamhill County it is a forty minute drive to downtown Portland, or going the other direction an hour and fifteen minutes to Lincoln City and the Oregon Coast. There are wonderful hiking trails all around the area, state parks and of course Mt Hood which is two hours away.

We very much enjoy meeting people and sharing our beautiful area of Oregon with people visiting here or relocating to Oregon.
