The Crossnore School

The Crossnore School provides a safe loving home for children who have been abused and traumatized. Within a framework of faith and spiritual development, we give our children an exceptional education through our public K-12 charter school; we offer evidence-based therapies to help our children overcome their traumas; a chance to develop the life skills necessary to be successful; we introduce them to the fine arts to show the richness of life; and we encourage them to a personal relationship with Jesus.

The Crossnore School is the only Sanctuary-certified foster care facility in North Carolina. The Sanctuary® Model is a blueprint for clinical and organizational change which, at its core, promotes safety and recovery from adversity through the active creation of a trauma-informed community. A recognition that trauma is pervasive in the experience of human beings forms the basis for the Sanctuary Model's focus not only on the people who seek treatment, but equally on the people and systems who provide that treatment.
