What started in 1997 with just 40 students has grown to become one of the top culinary arts colleges. Our new, 40,000-square-foot facility in downtown Muskegon, with its full-service restaurant, pastry and coffee shop, makes it possible for us to do even more to ensure our students graduate with solid credentials in the culinary arts, including the real-life experience that strengthens their knowledge and professionalism.
The Culinary Institute of Michigan is more than a cooking school. We immerse our students in both the art and business of the culinary arts in a curriculum structured to combine personalized instruction and hands-on training with plenty of real-world experience. Our instructors are working professionals in the food service industry, and our current instructor-to-student ratio is the lowest of any culinary program in the state.
