Welcome to The Dessert Plate, where we bake from scratch the old-fashioned way, making quality desserts with butter, flour, sugar, and eggs - no shortenings, no mixes, no preservatives.

Since we opened in 2001, our philosophy has been to keep the tradition of scratch baking alive. Our goal is to make baked goods that taste just as good as they look, passing along those classic taste memories to all of the folks who come into our shop.

The Dessert Plate is your Main Street bakery in Somerville. It’s the kind of bakeshop you always dreamed of having in your neighborhood. The one where you can stop in for coffee and a scone on your way to work, chat about the weather, get some cookies for a friend, and order a cake for your most special occasion.
