The Farm at Blackstock

Our page is about our experience and (hopefully sometime in the not so distant future) the end result of starting up a sporting clays course and restoring our farmhouse. It has been a difficult undertaking assuming the role of managing a working farm, continuing in full time positions, and restoring the house and planning the course. This page is our journey and our joy (ok, maybe sometimes not so joyful) at the process of opening a small but awesome shooting course, intermingled with some hunting. And, of course, my part of the dream, which is playing cook and hostess to everyone after their long day of shooting. We plan to offer a fun and challenging course, and for those who choose to make a weekend of it, we would like to provide meals and housing in a casual and comfortable environment. Because eating out of a cooler for lunch, running out of drinks, and trying to figure out where to get a hot meal at the end of a long day shooting is a drag. However, being served lunch at a break point between stations, and walking off the course at the end of the day to a hot bowl of chicken and dumplings with a glass of ice tea waiting on you is decidedly NOT a drag. We hope everyone enjoys watching us build our course through this site, and we look forward to you sharing your thoughts and ideas with us.
