The Fish Tank Conch

Just a guy who has been down the Key West going on 9 years now. I have a pretty sweet life at home so I don't desire to live there but love visiting.
I don't claim to know more than many about Key West but going down now for eight years I have learned a thing or two and created this page to share information I run across that other may find useful.

I call it "Fish Tank" because I am not even a Fresh Water Conch! I just visit once a year.

"To this day if you are born in Key West you are a conch.
If you are born elsewhere but live here seven years you become a fresh water conch."


I don't make a dime off this page. Just a place to nest cool stuff about the little town we love.

KW is special to me because I picked it out of the blue as place to visit years ago. We had done Mexico and the Caribbean.

I choose K.W. because it looked like a small U.S. town in paradise. That first year we went my wife was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in August. We went down in November after we discovered our first attempts to rid her of it were not successful and our future was uncertain.

I am pleased to say we have now been down eight years together and have a house rented for the month of April in 2018!
