The Fluff Stop Baby Shop

Hi! I am Melissa (Cowell) Aschemeier, and I am so excited to be opening The Fluff Stop Baby Shop! We started cloth diapering just over a year ago when we found ourselves spending $100 a month to diaper 2 children. I had looked into cloth before, but had been steered away by family and friends, but used the math to sell my husband, Jonathon on the idea of it. He reluctantly agreed, but has found that he LOVES cloth diapers too! Not only do they save us a lot of money, but they are great for our children's sensitive skin, and the environment. I started baby wearing very early with our first child, Lydia. She was a preemie and in the NICU for a long period of time, and there I learned the many benefits of skin to skin and have been an avid baby wearer ever since! Again, Jonathon was reluctant, but during a recent trip to Texas, where we carried the children in carriers through the airport, he found one of the many benefits of baby wearing and now says he feels sorry for parents that don't have some kind of baby carrier!

We wanted to open a store focused on cloth diapering and baby wearing in the Defiance area because there is nothing like it without driving over an hour away. We are here to help with any question you may have, from cloth diapering (different fabrics, wash routines, ect), to baby wearing (how to use stretch wraps, buckle carriers, and more), and anything else we can assist you with! We are also excited to carry natural and recycled toys and other natural parenting products that we really enjoy, and believe others will too!

Jonathon and Melissa were born and raised in the Defiance (Tinora) and Archbold areas respectively. They enjoy farming and outdoor life and being involved in the community. They live in Archbold with their daughter, Lydia (2), and son, Myles (1), but are planning to move back to the Tinora area in the future.
