The Foundation For Hope Village

Hope Village was founded by Bill and Lucille Williams in 1967 when they sought care for her daughter, Sally, who had been diagnosed as an infant with mental retardation. Dissatisfied with the few services available at that time, Mrs. Williams became the driving force behind the planning and building of Hope Village. She sought to create a place that would be a loving home for her daughter and others with similar disabilities. The first home was opened in 1970 with six residents.

Mr. and Mrs. Williams are no longer with us but for those whose lives have been touched by them through Hope Village, we are eternally grateful for their determination and commitment to make a better life with more opportunities for people with intellectual disabilities.

There are many parts to Hope Village. We have a Tea Room that serves delicious soups, salads, sandwiches (hot and cold), and hot plate specials daily. We deliver to the local area! We also have a gift shop that you can enjoy as well.

The Cafe is open Tues-Friday 11am-2pm.

We have a Resale Shop that is open Wednesday-Saturday. Hours are:
Wednesday 10am-4pm
Thursday and Friday 10am-6pm
Saturday 10am-3pm

For your convenience, a 24 hour drop box is located on the north side of the shop. For donations of large or fragile items, please drop off during normal business hours or call the Resale Shop at 281-996-7045. WE WOULD LOVE TO TALK TO YOU ABOUT ANY FURNITURE DONATIONS YOU MAY HAVE!!

We depend on the support of the public, not only by shopping in our store, but by donating clothing, accessories and household items that are in "like new" condition. The Foundation for Hope Village is a 501 (c)(3) organization and donations are tax deductible as allowed by law. As with all of our retail ventures, all proceeds support the programs offered by Hope Village and also offer opportunities for Villagers to receive job training and learn new skills.

We are also always looking for volunteers for the resale shop and you can find an application on our website!

The Hope Village Gift Shop offers items such as handmade soaps, lotions, body sprays, jewelry and ceramics which are made right here at Hope Village. We also offer home accent pieces, seasonal decorations, and specialty seasonings and jellies.

The Hope Village Gift Shop and Ceramics is open Mon-Friday 8am-4pm.
