The Good Earth Restaurant/ Schmidt's Market

The Good Earth Restaurant is an extension of Schmidt's Market. The farm market was established in 1936 by George and Lela Schmidt. This farm Market is the oldest operating roadside market in Iowa. Today George and Mary Ann Schmidt ( son and daughter-law)
Th Good Earth has been open since 1998. We are open seven days a week.

Summer hours are 7 AM-9PM Monday-Saturday and 7AM-8PM on Sundays.We offer breakfast from 7AM-11AM daily. Lunch and dinner items from 11AM until close. Our menu items offer a huge variety of your favorites such as biscuits and gravy for breakfast and our homemade breaded tenderloin form lunch and dinner. We also have homegrown fried green tomatoes, fried zucchini, and fried eggplant in the summer months. And the all time favorites, homegrown cantaloupe and watermelons, and many more fruits and vegetables fresh from our fields. Our salad bar is amazing~~~homemade salads and homegrown fruits and vegetables available. We believe in "Iowa Grown for You"!
