The Grand Texana

Texana is a beautiful, unique, 80-year old dairy farm estate. It is located on Hwy 290, between Waller and Chappell Hill. It is conveniently accessible from Houston, College Station, Brenham and Austin.

The centerpiece is a 10,000 square foot, authentic, white wooden dairy barn. It has a large 2 story barn connected to a 1 story barn by a long, covered aisle, that was used for milking the cows. Adjacent to the Barn is a 1200 sq. foot covered pavilion. The Wooden Barn and it's unique architecture is a slice of history that the owners are committed to preserving and sharing for years to come.

The barn is nestled on all 3 sides by wide-open cattle ranges populated by Black Angus, rolling pastures, forest and wildlife. It is also nestled beside a lush pecan orchard. A pond with fountain will anchor the Barn grounds.

Other amenities of the estate include a 4500 square foot farmhouse, 2 guest cottages, original windmill, white 3 rail wood fencing, cabana, greenhouse foundation, and numerous outbuildings.

The main farmhouse has a charming 800 square foot great room which is available for smaller gatherings; rehearsal dinners, bridal brunch, anniversary celebrations, birthday parties, etc. It is decorated with beadboard walls, 14 ' ceiling, old farmhouse tables, large windows overlooking grounds and wrap-around covered porch, complete with rocking chairs, ceiling fans, garden and fountain.

A three bedroom, 2 bath guest house is converted to the Bridal Cottage. The Bride has her own private room and bath, and the bridal party shares the rest of the house for hair and makeup, dressing and visiting.

A large one bedroom guest house is converted to the Groom's Carriage House. It is a large, wide-open space, including kitchen, fireplace, game table, T.V. and a dressing room and bathroom.

The Cabana is being remodeled with his and her bathrooms on either end. It has a quaint, conversation garden adjacent to the building. It steps down to the old greenhouse remains.

The original greenhouse was built on a white concrete wall foundation, which remains. A unique, white wood structure is being built on top. It will be constructed of antique architectural materials, topped with an antique cupola. It will be a charming, one-of-a-kind location for photo opportunities.

The Farmhouse has a circular drive around both the front and back. The property is fronted by white, 3 rail wood fencing, 2 iron privacy gates and landscaped stone entries. The entry to the property is complimented with tree-lined drives. All the buildings are connected with old, original sidewalks, creating an ambiance that cannot be reproduced.

Renovations are completed on the Farmhouse Greatroom, the Bride's Cottage, and the Groom's Carriage House. The Barn Pavilion is currently being re-roofed.

The Barn is being renovated with new barn doors, fresh paint, and lighting. The Greenhouse is being refurbished with architectural pieces, the Cabana Restrooms are being updated. All renovations expected to be completed by early spring, 2016.
