The Happy Rooster Farm, LLC

The Happy Rooster Farm, LLC started out as a very small laying flock for Robyn and Greg. We just wanted a few eggs for ourselves and loved watching what we called "Chicken TV". As the years went on, we learned more and more.
When we moved to Floyd in 2006, we also bought a few acres so we could have our horses live near us like before. We were disgusted with what was going on in "Big Ag" and wanted to grow and raise more of our own food. In 2009, we started out with 2 steers because you just can't have one cow! We wanted them to live humanely and have as natural a life as possible before their sacrifice to us and other families.
In 2013, we bought our first Tamworth pigs and raised two for pork and kept two sows for breeding. We now breed these girls and raise some of the piglets for pork shares and sell other animals as feeder pigs.
We've spent a lot of time planning and developing a flock of heritage birds that will provide our family and several others with eggs and meat for many years.
We have expanded our farm over the years but always want to provide the customer with what we want: great food, that is local, sustainable, made up of heritage breeds, bred and raised on our farm, that is humanely raised and slaughtered.
