More about The HEAL Project, U.S.A

The HEAL Project (THP) on the Farm: The San Mateo County (SMC) School Farm operates on two acres of Coastside commercial farmland.
THP administers programs on the farm year-round. Field trips are open to all SMC schools. Students eat, plant, harvest, and learn about the produce that is grown. Interested parties are encouraged to check out our website to learn more and sign up!

THP Camps: THP day camps immerse students in an outdoor learning adventure at the San Mateo County School Farm. Themed camps are filled with activities such as cooking, hiking, digging, tasting, science and art in nature.

The HEAL Project (THP) in the Classroom: Our founder programs includes a focused curriculum for 2nd & 3rd graders tied to the Next Generation Science Standards.
One hour each week, THP is in the classroom garden at two Coastside schools providing lessons and activities that connect students with their HEALTH, the ENVIRONMENT, and sustainable AGRICULTURE through LEARNING. (These are the four words that form the word HEAL in our name.)

THP in the Garden: The Garden Club offers an extension of our classroom program for interested students during lunch recess. Older participants have the opportunity to become involved in their community and local food system by conducting campus garden sales, planning and participating in THP's Farmers' Market sales booth and community projects.

THP in the Kitchen: Sponsored by the California Department of Food and Agriculture, THP's EAAT (Engaged Active Agricultural Tasters) program offers nutrition lesson and food preparation or cooking activity along with a tasting featuring a California Specialty Crop in all of THP's programs.
