The Lister-Sink Institute is an educational organization designed to meet the needs of the musical community worldwide by instructing keyboardists in well-coordinated, injury-preventive technique. Because technique is the foundation upon which all music-making rests, training in healthful technique is essential for sustaining great music in our time, and for enriching culture as a whole. This organization is at the forefront of a global effort
• to define clearly the principles of healthful technique
• to help prevent playing-related injury
• to develop reliable methods for producing consistent technical results
• to disseminate this information in a manner appropriate to musicians
The Lister-Sink Institute (Formerly WINGSOUND International) was founded in 1996 by Barbara Lister-Sink in the wake of her production of the video/DVD Freeing the Caged Bird – Developing Well-Coordinated, Injury-Preventive Piano Technique. Income from all training and DVD sales is used to further this mission.
