The “Loft” practice space [Rehearsal Space]..is a scene in itself. It is..[Formerly] above the Big Lots on 7 Mile & Grand River (In Redford Twp, Located in the Redford Oaks Shopping Center). Once you step inside the unmarked gray door leading to the spacious... 'Lofts' [Rehearsal Spaces]..divided into about 50 semi-soundproofed rooms, you’re immediately overwhelmed...there’s that menacing gated freight elevator, and there are stray flyers and posters promoting gigs every night of the week, everywhere from the (Local Bar) to the State Theater.
And then, of course, there’s the music. Behind each "well-individualized" door lie the beginning strains of countless songs in the making and covers to come — metal thrashes, three-part harmonies, the beginning guitar wail of Guns N’ Roses’ “Sweet Child o’ Mine” over and over and over again. So many dreams, so many earplugs, so many crazy rockers walking down the hallway, checking out the other bands, helping them out, it's a creating community. Not to sound corny or anything, but it’s really beautiful...."
