The historic North Park Theatre is under new ownership and has been completely revamped to become San Diego's newest concert/music/nightlife venue. Located in the thriving community of North Park, on University Avenue, the theatre is a multi-faceted event destination with the ability to host everything from major touring acts to fully-catered corporate events. The theatre will accommodate 1,100 in it's newly designed, tiered open-floor configuration and can also be scaled down to a seated configuration of 550 comfortable seats.

The North Park Theatre has a great deal of history, originally opening in 1929. Over the years the theatre has hosted theatrical productions, musicals, symphonies, films, and concerts. Some of the acts that have played the theatre in the past include a memorable show by Red Hot Chili Peppers, and more recently, Ghostland Observatory, Girls, Residents, David Gray, Dirty Projectors, Fishbone, K.D. Lang, Joan Rivers and more.

Under new ownership, and with participation of Tim Mays from the Casbah, the theatre is being transformed into a modern day nightlife destination. Sightlines in the venue are superb from any spot on the new tiered floor. The venue is equipped with new state-of-the-art sound and lighting systems specifically designed to fit the room's needs.

The North Park Theatre features a 40x24' stage with wings and full flying capabilities. There are 4 dressing rooms, laundry facilities, and showers located beneath the stage. There are also several production offices, a fully equipped projection booth, and a full stage-sized rehearsal room located upstairs above the theatre floor. The North Park Theatre also has a huge 34x20' screen that can be flown in on stage.

The venue also features adjacent bus and tour vehicle parking and a loading dock entrance right off the street for ease of load in and out.

The venue is adjacent to West Coast Tavern, a full-service urban tavern with great food, craft beer, and handcrafted cocktails. Dinner is available prior to shows and afterward til midnight and the bar is open til 2am nightly. West Coast Tavern is conveniently located in the historic lobby of the theatre.

The venue is designed to accomodate 1,100 music fans in the new open-floor setup. There will also be the ability to have partially-seated with some standing, partially-seated with tables and chairs and standing, and also fully-seated, depending on the type of event.
