In 1995, Sherri Lowery entered Cherisa, her then four-month old daughter, in a pageant. Unhappy with the fit and look of her daughter’s off-the-rack dresses, Sherri put her childhood sewing skills to work, altering and adding to the outfits she purchased. Less than two years later, Sherri, a 4H sewing contest winner, made her first completely custom pageant outfit for Cherisa. By popular request, Sherri offered her pageant-winning designs to the public in 1997. The company first began operating as Lowery's Designs & Sewing and now does business as The Pageant Place offering retail and consignments also.

The Pageant Place is now everywhere – state-wide, coast-to-coast and worldwide. Sherri delights in making beautiful pageant clothes that provide growing room (toddlers grow so fast!) and to stay beautiful for years (some of the dresses she designed 10 years ago are still making girls look GRRREEAATTTT!)
Sherri has been around pageants most of her life – as a contestant, director, judge, pageant mom and auditor. She knows how it feels… to be standing up on stage, nervous and excited about you’ll fare in the competition… to be standing in front of the stage, nervous and excited about making the competition run smoothly… and to be waiting in the wings or in the audience VERY nervous and VERY excited about watching your daughter compete.
