The Perking House Coffee and Tea Company

The Concept: As of right now, The Perking House is a small startup coffee roaster in Lynchburg VA. The long term goal is to eventually have an actually building, but as for now we believe it's wise to wait and develop the product and the business at a slower rate.
Coffee houses over the past 20 years have become more and more familiar to the American way of life. Everyday millions of people stop at coffee houses for coffee or espresso style drinks. During the past 20 years, there has not been a single year, despite war and recession, in which specialty coffee sales have not grown. In many years the increase has been in double digits. In addition, no coffeehouse chains have failed during this time, although the list of casualties in other industries is quite long.
The “fast food” style coffee house that is of today is becoming somewhat of a dry and of bad quality food and espresso bases drinks. When people go to a coffee house and sit down with a group of people, they want good quality and unmatched customer service. Some coffee houses may have good customer service, yet lack the quality aspect. The goal of The Perking House is to provide a service aspect combined with quality.
The Perking House is a coffee house is for the surrounding communities of young and old. Having a safe and clean environment is one of my main goals. With enchanting authentic coffee and latte style drinks and a healthy assortment of food that is both delicious and creative. The Perking House will have traditional pastries and breakfast style foods, but will also have entrees for lunch and dinner. I am very skilled in the kitchen and plan to continue to challenge myself in all areas of culinary. The whole idea of opening a coffee house is to create jobs, build community, and support the community by buying products that I can use from local farmers and growers. By creating or opening this business I will be able to help change people’s lives in a way that is positive for society. One of my biggest goals throughout the next ten years is to create enough jobs in the local area that the economy will be influenced.
