FrenetiCore Dance was incorporated as a non-profit organization in 2003 with the goal of creating cutting-edge multi-media dance theater productions unlike any others found in the Houston area. FrenetiCore has performed at least 1-3 full length works per season since 2003, in addition to creating 9 dances for film. Under the artistic direction of Rebecca French, FrenetiCore maintains a dance company comprised of regular members and guest performers. The company offers community dance classes for adults and has provided outreach to at-risk children in the East End, incarcerated youth, and homeless teens in Houston.
FrenetiCore Dance has participated in numerous festivals including CounterCurrent, Wallpaper Dance Festival in Trieste, Italy, TEDxHouston, Big Range Dance Festival, Texas Weekend of Contemporary Dance at the Miller Outdoor Theater, Houston Fringe Festival, New Orleans Fringe Festival, and Bayou City Arts Festival. FrenetiCore Dance has collaborated with various musicians, artists, and technicians in the Houston area including dancer/choreographer Lindsey Mcgill, Two Star Symphony, Houston Sacred Harp Singers, filmmaker Laura Harrison, writer Chad Crawford, singer/composer Andrew Karnavas and visual artist Weihong.
