The Red Lodge Area Community Foundation

The town of Red Lodge burst into life in 1884, born of the excitement of a coal mining boom. Hundreds of immigrants settled in this wonderfully picturesque area nestled at the foot of the Rocky Mountains’ Beartooth Range. These people brought with them various ethnic traditions and cultures, creating a rich legacy of community diversity and bootstrap hardiness.

The entrepreneurial spirit of those first settlers still exists today in an area characterized by personal creativity and defined by pride in our surroundings as well as each other. The Red Lodge Area Community Foundation (RLACF) is a permanent resource for those who wish to contribute to the vitality of our town and the greater Carbon County community.
