The Rehabilitation Center of Des Moines

The Rehabilitation Center of Des Moines is conveniently located next to Iowa Lutheran Hospital and close to all major hospitals in the Des Moines Metro. The Center offers private & semi-private rooms for residents with a private dining area. The Center offers post hospital short term stays with physical, occupational, and speech therapies provided by our in-house motivational Therapy team in our large therapy gym.

Long-term care is available for those requiring round the clock nursing care including but not limited to medication, bathing, dressing, grooming, and other daily tasks.

Other services offered are Respite, Palliative Care, Hospice, IV's, Wound healing and prevention education.

Respite care is temporary care for someone that is dependent on a caregiver due to being elderly, some memory loss, illness, or handicap providing relief to the in home caregiver. Reasons for Respite: Vacations, trips, Illness or medical treatment of the Caregiver, and stress relief.

Palliative Care is care for those with a serious illness focused on improving quality of life.

Hospice Care is a provided on-site care service for those with a potential life expectancy of less than 6 months and a advanced illness such as COPD, late-stage Alzheimers/Dementia, and stroke. Hospice care focuses on alleviating the symptoms associated with illness thru compassionate care and a commitment to comfort and support not only for the resident but also for the family. Hospice services are generally covered by Medicare, Medicaid, and many private insurance companies. Medications and medical equipment can be covered up to 100% while on hospice services. Some residents that get hospice services thrive with the additional care provided and no longer require hospice service.
