Since 1981 Lauri Ward and the associates of Use-What-You-Have Interiors® have provided New York and South Florida with affordable decorating services and have helped thousands of home owners and renters resolve their home redecorating issues, in small New York apartments to sprawling South Florida homes, by providing affordable decorating services.
Decorating Consultations
Whatever your budget or style, we’ll work with you and make you a partner in the process of one day decorating. Whether you are selling your home and want an instant room makeover or you just want to redecorate so that your place looks and feels better, our decorators will make sure that your interiors reflect your personality and lifestyle.
Our goal is to take the anxiety out of the redesign process and help you to trust your own taste. Before we walk through the door you’ll know what your redecorating consultation is going to cost and at the end of the meeting you’ll be given a complete design plan, full of decorating ideas and design sources that are tailored to suit your goals.
We charge a low flat rate for each room redecoration, based on size, no matter how long the redesign takes. And, best of all, the results are immediate.
Two Residence Consultations
Are you moving to a new place and are unsure about what to take, what to donate and what to purchase for your new home? We can help you save time, money, and mistakes. Our decorator will visit your new space and your present home and will provide you with a complete, organized, step-by-step plan.
Hourly Shopping
If you want or need additional assistance after your consultation, one of our decorators can help you shop or can shop for you. Just let us know what we can do to expedite your project.

If you want your home to look its best and increase its value, Resale-Ready® will help you prepare for a successful open house and a quick sale. Color Refinement™
Whenever you need detailed paint color information or fabric coordination, we offer expert decorating advice at a low flat rate. With our help you can coordinate a quick and affordable redesign of your home just by repainting or reupholstering with more sophisticated hues.
Art & Accessory Refinement™
If you are happy with your furnishings but need advice on the perfect finishing touches to give your home a fresh look, this service is for you. Do you have too many or too few accessories? Are you unsure how to best display your artwork? We make updating easy with our affordable hourly rate.
eDecorating
If you live outside of the Triangle or North Carolina or South would like a Use What You Have consultation, just send me photos of your room(s) along with dimensions and some feedback about what you want and need, and I’ll be happy to create a personalized plan tailored to your style and budget.
