*The Rock Cafe is a music ministry, established in 2012, with the goal of reaching local youths, to ultimately bring them to Christ. The Rock Cafe originally took place once per month in the finished basement of Metropolitan Baptist Church, located at 1624 84th Street Brooklyn, NY 11214. In 2014, we were blessed with our very own venue in Gerritsen Beach, Brooklyn, NY. After much discussion and prayer, we decided to return to Bensonhurst in 2015 for one final all day outdoor concert. Now as we enter into 2016, we have relocated to Middletown, Pennsylvania. We have been blessed with an awesome new church family at Fountain of Life. Our Grand Opening will be January 9th, 7:30-10pm at the Living Life Community Center (56 E Emaus St Middletown, PA 17057). All events in 2016 will be every 1st Saturday of the month from February-December. The Rock Cafe features several unsigned Christian artists, as they get to showcase their God-given talents, while allowing them to minister to others. We book 1-3 artists per night, and the artists receive a love offering, which is given by those who attend. There is always an Open Mic throughout the night. So that if the Lord touches your heart, you are welcome to the stage. All artists are always welcome to bring & sell any of their merchandise, whether if be cd's or shirts, etc. Admission is always free, as well as complimentary baked goods & coffee. My goal when starting The Rock Cafe was to bring the body of Christ together, while ultimately reaching non-believers in the area. I wanted to establish a weekend hangout for the youth, where they can hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and listen to contemporary Christian music. I want this lost generation to see the importance and reality of having a relationship with Jesus Christ. The Rock Cafe is also a great place to network. When you have different Christian artists coming together, and performing different styles of music, amazing things can happen. Now by different styles, I mean in the categories of for example rap, rock, r&b, etc, but ALL CHRISTIAN. Whether it be Christian rap, Christian rock, you get the idea. You get to make some good friends, & establish some good relationships with people. We have had different artists from around the country (Tennessee, Florida, Indiana, Illinois) and out of the country (India) come and share their ministry with us. Special thanks to: Extreme Tour Rep. Vince "Dynamomin" Leone for flying in from Phoenix, Arizona every month, as our ministry partner and faithful staff member. The Yes Hour Radio station, with Chris "Mr.C" James & Brigitte "Serious" James, who have broadcasted several of our live events. Our DJ Miguel "MIGS" Santiago & praise dance group Motivated Movers In Christ (MMIC), directed by Anastasia Johnson, who have shared their ministry with us on a monthly basis. I pray that The Rock Cafe would only continue to grow, & reach an even larger audience. It is unfortunately so hard to get people to come out and support you as an unsigned artist. Especially as a Christian artist. And speaking from experience, that's just the reality. So, The Rock Cafe gives us the opportunity to bond together & form a unity as the body of Christ. One artist brings their friends/family/fans, another brings theirs, and so on and so forth. We need to support one another, and ultimately know this is for God's glory. It is not about us. We get to do what we love, but we direct our gifts towards the Lord. And at The Rock Cafe, we are here to minister to people. At the end of the night, we pray hearts are touched, people are reached, and if just one non-believer was brought to Christ that night, then A-men & Hallelujah, the goal was reached!
