The Salvation Army Miami County, In

Our hopes is that as people research for organizations which can advocate for the needs of themselves or others they can find us willing to do what we can. The Peru Salvation Army is in Miami County, IN. It is a population of 14,000 (roughly) and is home to The world headquarters for the circus. It boasts of being the home of Cole Porter and has three highschools, Peru, Miami North and Maconaquah. The citizenry are very faithful supporters of these schools. The local churches and businesses also support The Salvation Army along with service clubs. The Peru corps dispenses funds from FEMA, Good Samaritans, Dukes Foundation and United Way. They also advocate for the needs of the disenfranchised in Miami county through Food pantry, hotmeals, utlity and rental assistance and medical needs, including eyeglass exam and glasses and prescription assistance. They have chidrens programming as well as family events and resources. The Salvation Army collaborate with local businesses and churches to do an annual Backpack Festival, serving the community youth of over 600 children annually.
We are a worship center with weekday and Sunday services. We have an Emergency canteen for Disaster Services and are a climate emergency outpost. Either heat or cold weather respite.
