The Shuttered Image

While my story may not be so unique, what is different about The Shuttered Image is how it makes photography completely affordable and accessible to people who aren’t models, moguls, movie stars or pro athletes. Whether you hire me as your personal paparazzo for an afternoon on the playing field or for a private event, my goal is to make the experience comfortable, fun, and when feasible, interactive. You’re ensured not only the services of an easy-going, patient, trustworthy photographer but also secure, password-protected accessibility to view and purchase the resulting photos online at your leisure.

My preferred style of working is shooting unscripted, in-the-moment candids of groups or individuals (all ages) in outdoor settings (weather permitting) or at sporting events (pre-game, mid-game, post-game). But I’ll also more than happily show up to unobtrusively capture a grandson’s grand jete at a dance recital or an infant’s christening in a hushed cathedral.

In fact, some of the many ways we can turn life’s moments, ordinary and momentous, into professionally rendered “photo ops” include:

• Shots of your budding David Beckham or Mia Hamm caught mid-action on the field
• A series of candids of your graduating senior for their yearbook, Facebook, family, and friends
• Frameable proof, at last, of your prowess on the putting green, in the bike race, rappelling the rapids, etc.
• A few flattering (and non-cliché) poses for an online dating profile, social or professional networking sites
• Professional-quality photos of your kids just being kids … in the backyard, at the park, on the playground (“Look, Ma, no tears!” Also no staged, stiff, predictable poses set against backdrops of fake grass like mall-store packages.)
