The purpose of The Silversmith's House Renovation Project page is to inform the public about an historical renovation project which will save the c. 1820 historic house built by French Canadian, Antoine Oneille. Born in Quebec in 1769, Oneille crafted silver in Detroit, Vincennes, Indiana and Sainte Genevieve, Missouri. His work is compared to fine silver works made in Boston and Philadelphia in the early 1800s. Oneille died in 1825 in Ste. Genevieve.
