The Simply Elite School of Dance & Gymnastics

40 Years ago the Turning Pointe School of Dance and Gymnastics was knows as Leta’s School of Dance. Leta Deines and her husband Rick came to the community as school teachers and Leta opened her dance studio. At that time they danced in the Masonic Building, which is now Lincoln Place. Leta ran her studio and soon her sister Lana began helping her.
When Leta and Rick decided to move on, Lana stayed and changed the name of the studio to Lana’s School of Dance. Lana’s School of Dance had many homes throughout the years, including Lincoln Place, Memorial Auditorium, and even her home. Finally she settled into what is now Geronimo’s Gifts and stayed at that location until Ginger Wilson took over in 1992 and changed the name to The Turning Pointe School of Dance. Ginger continued to occupy that building until she moved to the old Stage store, where our studio remained until November 2013.
The studio changed hands again and Elizabeth Shimer took on the role as owner of The Turning Pointe School of Dance and Gymnastics July 2013. After a shaky first year due to building issues and changes in dance instructors, we found our home and new identity in the Cleary Building at 1015 North Vandenburgh as THE SIMPLY ELITE SCHOOL OF DANCE & GYMNASTICS! We are very proud of our long tradition in Wellington and hope to continue for years to come. We truly appreciate your loyalty. It is our honor to know that you are willing to share your kids with us throughout the year!!
