The Sin Bin Food Cart

Our Story

She may look a bit rough around the edges, but this little trailer has character for sure. She was purchased June 1st 2014 in Prineville on a whim. Lots of damage inside and pretty much gutted except for the original appliances. Not knowing what I would do with her, one day I decided to open a food cart. I’m no chef by any means, but I do love food! My grandfather spent many hours helping me with the structure and electrical, I loved every minute of it. We were open for some events that summer but never opened full time. It wasn’t until recently that everything came together at the exact moment to where we could do the work that was needed and get licensed to open permanently. So here we are! After spending many hours trying to figure out just what to make, I decided to just make what spoke to me at that moment. I’m sure we will go through many changes in the near future, settling into our “groove” and finding our place here in Bend. Also, a huge thanks to the Bend Makers District, they’ve been incredibly welcoming and friendly since day 1. Let’s not forget all the support from my friends/leaguemates from LCRD. I couldn’t do it without all of you.
I almost forgot! Where did the name Sin Bin come from? Well, I play roller derby for the Lava City Roller Dolls here in town and like hockey, they Sin Bin is what we call our penalty box! Unlike in derby, this Sin Bin is one you’ll actually WANT to take a timeout in!
