"The Smog Shop", A family owned and operated business since 1988! Mike Schoen first opened his doors in the Kern River Valley back in 1988 at "Dam Korner #4" in Mt. Mesa. While there, he and his father, Glenn Howell built a reputation for Quality Automotive repair and outstanding customer care. After 11 years, he moved to Lake Isabell and renamed it "Mikes Automotive". He then accepted a promising position at Mesa Marin raceway as the Director of Youth Motorsports. After a major car accident in the Kern Canyon, Mike re-opened his doors in Wofford Heights January 2008, with Justin Lyon, where he continued his high quality repairs and excellent customer service. After his passing that July, his wife, Robin Schoen resumed the business, re-naming it "Schoen's Repair & Smog", continuing his quality service for the past 5 years. During 2013, Robin's health declined and her daughter, Maggie and husband Justin Lyon have taken over the business. Mike's philosophy was to always provide his customers with honest advice and reputable service. He believed that every one of his customers deserve a full and honest explanation, and not be charged for unnecessary services. All of his honesty, integrity and values were instilled into this family owned and operated business and continue today with, "The Smog Shop"! Justin and Maggie Lyon have made many customer appreciated upgrades and have the most up to date diagnostic equipment! They have relocated to a larger facility to increase the ability of quality customer satisfaction and productivity, in turn leaving shorter wait times for our customers! Josh Eubanks is our service writer and office manager. He gives each customer high quality service and will give you the answers your looking for quickly and accurately! Recently joining our team is ASE Master Certified Technician, Sam Beckham. He worked for Dave & Sons for more than 17 years. Although we are saddend to see another quality reputable shop close due to illness, we are truly excited to have Sam here with us! He always provides high quality, honest repairs!
