The Sword & The Scone Tea Parlor & Boutique

We are a 3,933 sq. ft tea parlor and boutique proudly located in historic J-town district just down the street from Southeast Christian Church. We are Louisville's only "true" tea parlor. Owned and operated by Judy Rowland, a Southeast Christian Church member (since 1991) and Louisvillian. We plan to open our doors for business in October 2016.

What will we offer you, the customer?

Quality, good tasting food, and super tasty tea in a relaxing environment. We will also have a photo booth area with professional lighting and back drop with props for you to take your own group photos to commemorate your visit with us. Or we can take your photo for you! Either way, if you like it we can put it on a custom digital gift item for you to take with you before you leave! Can anyone say...."Gift giving made easy?" Photo gifts are keepsakes and cherished above all other gifts!! Formerly known as Whatsoever Digital Things (closing that Facebook page and incorporating it here).


Additionally, we will have a boutique with unique gift items for you, your family and friends. We will also sell everything you need to recreate your tea sipping and dining experience at home. All of our teas and accessories will be sold in the boutique as well as a bakery display case filled with tasty scones and treats to take home with you!
And lucky for you if you work in our area, because we will have a tea and scone of the day as well as quick grab items for lunch like sandwiches and soups! We have two graduates from Sullivan Culinary School as our chefs at The Sword & The Scone Tea Parlor & Boutique!!

When should you visit?

We would hope that you would think of us for all your celebrations in life from wedding and baby showers to birthdays for adults and children, as well as couples night out and everything in between!! In addition we will host monthly special events to be announced on our business page. Special teas, contests, giveaways, book and Bible studies.

Local artists?

Why yes, we do! Our boutique will feature the many talents of local artists from jewelry to home decor to Derby hats found no where else!!!

What will my visit to The Sword & The Scone Tea Parlor & Boutique look like?

You and your party guests will arrive 15-20 minutes early. You can come in and take as many photos in our photo booth area with professional lighting and back drop as you like! You can use seasonal props to make it fun and you can dress up to enhance your visit! We will provide hats, gloves, pearls, and boas that you may wear for your picture only or to your table to enhance the tea party experience!

After that you will be escorted to your table where you will be greeted by your server and you look over our menu featuring over 40 teas and 10 Blooming Teas! Each person can order whatever flavor of tea they want to start out with, as we serve endless pots of hot tea or endless carafes of iced teas! Switch flavors as often as you like! Next, your three tiered stand will be brought out to you with your tasty sweets, scones, and savories! If you want to order a gift with your group photo on it your waitress will be glad to take this order for you as well. You can also add a salad or soup from our menu to your tea tray and make it a meal!

Speaking of menu...

Our menu is a conversation starter for sure!! Why? Because most of our teas are named after iconic things that Kentucky is known for, and there is a brief history on our menu about each flavor! This makes it educational and fun!!

Meeting rooms or party rooms?

Yes! Plan your meeting with us and we will cater it with the best meeting food and tea anywhere!
We have two meeting/ party rooms. One will be tastefully decorated shabby chic and the other could be used for a children's birthday celebration or a meeting as it will feature Disney's Beauty and The Beast decor!! Either room will fit your needs beautifully with a hostess to cater to whatever you need!
We will have free wifi as well as a big screen TV to help you with your presentations! Don't worry we have your back!!

When you leave, you will be able to browse our boutique for unique gifts and for take outs to have tea and scones at home!! Don't have a tea pot...no worries....we have plenty!!
