The Taste of the Twin Lakes - June 7, 2016

The Taste of the Twin Lakes is fast approaching, and with it comes a unique opportunity to sample food from some of the Twin Lake’s region’s best restaurants. The Taste will be held at the Baxter County Fairgrounds in the Exhibition building on Tuesday, June 7th from 5-9 p.m. Tickets, which are $45, may be purchased at The Purple Door, 710 N. College and at Integrity First Bank downtown Mountain Home. This year the Taste will offer fine and casual dining experiences from several area restaurants, all of whom will be competing for prizes including best booth and People's Choice. All proceeds go to benefit Serenity, which provides domestic violence emergency shelter, programs and services in the Twin Lake’s region.

Now in its 7th year, the Taste is an integral part of Serenity’s annual funding, contributing over $35,000 last year to the agency. “As our signature event, we count on the Taste to help us fund our programs and services throughout the year”, said Niki de Soto, Serenity's Executive Director. “This year’s Taste is especially important, as we are now in our new shelter and able to expand our services. Every single donation, ticket sale, sponsorship and auction purchase has added significance this year as we prepare to expand our offerings to domestic violence survivors in our area.”

“The Taste has been called the ‘Fun Fundraiser’ and we hope our friends and supporters will come out and enjoy it with us,” said Marian O’Leary, Serenity's Board President.

In addition to sampling food from great area restaurants, Taste participants will also have the chance to bid on items in our silent auction. For those unable to attend the event, donations may be made by visiting Serenity’s website at www.SerenityInc.org.

Serenity provides emergency shelter and support services for domestic violence survivors in Baxter and Marion counties. We are a catalyst for change in domestic violence by providing caring client support and the life skills necessary for healthy independence, while expanding community understanding.
