The Vineyard Bread Project was started in 2008 when I started baking bread more seriously and arranged a way to share it with friends. In 2014, it became permitted as a residential kitchen.
It was originally called B.E.S.T for Baking Education Support Team for which Laurie Miller did a beautiful drawing for me of a community of people supporting a loaf of bread.
The Vineyard Bread Project is
• a community-supported bread effort in West Tisbury: a team/group of friends. It is not meant to be a production bakery offering the same breads all the time
• intended to be a learning experience for me that I share with members.
• about living local and creating community around the experience of good bread.
There are 2 parts to the project: one is a program where people subscribe to buy bread and come each week to pick it up and to chat with others who they see here.
The second is to teach how to make really good bread in your kitchen.
Both are intended to build community and provide joyous experiences.
