More about The Virginia Creeper Trail

Beginning in Abingdon, VA and winding its way over 34 miles through Damascus, VA to Whitetop Mountain, near the NC border, The Virginia Creeper Trail is one of the most famous rail-to-trail in the country.

In 2014 it was inducted in to the Rail-to-Trail Hall of Fame by the national Rails-to-Trails Conservancy.

Over 100,000 people visit the multi-use trail each year, biking, walking, running and horseback riding.

The most popular trip is a one-way bike ride from Whitetop Station to Damascus. The gentle downhill grade makes for an easy ride with beautiful views. Outfitters in Abingdon and Damascus offer bike rentals as well as a shuttle service to Whitetop Station.
