The Writing Room is a neighborhood restaurant, bar, and lounge boasting American cuisine with Italian influence on Manhattan's Upper East Side. Housed in the space that was formerly Elaine's, we take diners back to a simpler time while paying homage to the literary following the place inspired. Our menu features fresh, local ingredients in every dish, from the homemade gnocchi to the baked clams, rotisserie chicken, eggplant Parmesan, and New York strip loin. The Writing Room is about fun, entertainment, farm-to-table cuisine, cultivated cocktails, and a wine list that focuses on grape variety education.
