Thompson Scholarship Foundation Inc.

The Thompson Scholarship Foundation Inc. was established in the year of 2007 by Omar Thompson. The foundation provides funding annually to two recipients who pursues an undergraduate degree at an accredited college or university in the United States.

The Thompson Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)(3) charity based organization awarding scholarship monies to high school students for higher achievement within the Philadelphia area. The goal of the Thompson Foundation is to provide financial support, encouragement and knowledge of higher education to high school seniors. Award recipients are selected based on academic achievement, extracurricular activities and community involvement. In today’s world there are so many things tearing our youth down, instead of building them up and their dreams are sometimes lost. So we're here to let them know that they can accomplish their goals and their dreams are reachable. To us a college education is the key, because knowledge is power. This year we focused on all Philadelphia public high school students, but are currently looking to branch out to all Philadelphia high schools. In today’s society a college education has become a necessity, but in reality for most students it’s only a dream. So it is our goal and our honor to be able to make that dream come true.
