Thompson Valley High School is located at 1669 Eagle Drive in Loveland, Colorado. Its mascot is the Eagle. It is one of four high schools in the Thompson R2-J School District, along with Loveland High School, Mountain View High School, and Berthoud High School.AthleticsThompson Valley hosts 24 varsity sports, as well as a club hockey team, and a water polo team, which have not been declared varsity sports.CheerleadingIn the 2009–10 cheer season the team won first place in the 4A State Championships in Colorado and fourth place at regionals. The previous year, they placed 13th at state. The 1998 co-ed squad won the CHSAA 5A Co-Ed State Championship.Cross countryIn 2006 the women's team claimed their first state title, followed by a second-place finish in 2007, another state championship in 2008, and a second-place finish in 2009.In 2010, the boys placed second as a team in state, and the girls placed fourth.Men's swimming and divingThe early yearsThe TVHS men's swimming and diving team has had a great amount of success. The team began under head coach Dick Hewson. It took first place in the Northern Conference race in 1978, 1979, 1980, 1981, 1982, and 1983.1990–1999Dick Hewson retired after the 1991 season, and his son Tom Hewson took over the head coaching position. In 1993 the team re-claimed the conference title for the first time in ten years. The following year, the team captured the 5A state title, only the second state title in any sport in the school's history. In 1995 and 1996, the team took second place each year at the state meet, finishing behind crosstown rival Loveland High School. In 1997, the team claimed their second team title at the Class 4A state meet. In 1998, the team won the meet by one point to take the first back to back state championship in school history.
